Plaza Mayor, Plasencia

First stop on entering the old town is the lovely Plaza Major.  I understand there has been a square on the site since the twelth century.

Nearby is the Iglesia of San Esteban which was built in the fifteenth century.  A Roman tombstone inside the church intrigues me.

The church has a simple Gothic interior with a more jazzy retablo.

We like this place and pause to be mindful for a while.
