Practical and Mental Preparations no 1

After such a long cold winter it feels great to be off to Spain tomorrow.  I will miss T of N and H the rabbit but it will be great to see the sun and speak some Spanish.

We will fly into Madrid, spend the night there, then travel by train to Plasencia, Cáceres, Mérida  and Ciudad Real.  We will have two nights in each before a final night back in Madrid. 

If you refer to the map below you will find our square journey.  Firstly going west to Plasencia in Extremadura, then south to Cáceres and Mérida in the same region.  Lastly we will head back east into Castilla-La Mancha and bed down in Ciudad Real with a view to visiting Almagro (not shown on the map), at 20 km to the south east.
