Evening in Cáceres

After a busy and enjoyable day it is definitely beer o'clock, time to sample the local brew.  Cerveza Cerex, http://www.cervezacerex.com/ , offers a pilsen, cherry beer, chestnut or acorn (obviously).  The latter won several wards and rightly so.  The acorns are an obvious component because this is the land of the best Iberican ham, from pigs raised on acorns.  I don't want to get into that being a vegetarian.  But they certainly make a nice malty beer.  The pilsen is what is needed right now.  Light and refreshing with a good head.

We then manage the fifty yards to La Cacharrería.  This proves to be friendly bar with great service and a fresh enviroment.  We eat on stools at a high table.  The food is delicious.
